SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS

Workshop on AI in Robotics

On April 29th, 2025, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science) hosted a fantastic workshop on “AI in Robotics.” The workshop was conducted by
Mr. Yogarajan Manikandan, Team Lead at Kyureeus Edtech LLP. The session explored the integration of AI in Robotics. Students learned how AI enables robots to perceive, learn, and make decisions in dynamic environments. The evolution of AI from rule-based systems to deep learning models, including Generative AI and Reinforcement Learning, were discussed. Key AI tools such as Google Teachable Machine, TensorFlow Lite, and OpenCV were introduced for Robotics Development.

RobotDK, a simulation tool for Industrial Robots, was demonstrated for prototyping and reducing errors. Mr. Yogarajan showcased his Reception Robot, which uses NLP for human interaction. The workshop provided hands-on exposure to training AI models and simulating Robotic Systems. It bridged the theoretical knowledge with practical applications, inspiring students to explore AI-powered robotics. The session concluded with an insightful and engaging note, preparing students for future innovations.
