The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science) at New Horizon College of Engineering organized an industrial visit on 07 March 2026 to the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, for 4th and 6th semester students from 09:00 AM to 02:00 PM. The visit aimed to expose students to advanced research environments and real-world technological developments.
At IISc, students gained insights into its research culture, interdisciplinary approach, and innovation ecosystem. Experts introduced key domains such as artificial intelligence, data science, robotics, machine learning, and high-performance computing, highlighting their real-world applications. Students also learned about laboratory operations, experimentation processes, and collaborative research practices, emphasizing the importance of critical thinking and continuous learning.
Additionally, quiz competitions were conducted, where several students performed exceptionally well and were awarded prizes. This recognition encouraged active participation, healthy competition, and a deeper interest in emerging technologies and research concepts.
