Workshop on End-to-End Data Analytics in the IT Industry
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science), in association with the IEEE NHCE Student Branch and the Computer Society of India, organised a workshop titled “End-to-End Data Analytics in the IT Industry” on 31st March 2026 for 6th-semester students. The session was conducted by Jagadeesh Pondara, Assistant Manager and Business Analyst at Data Labs, CSI Landmark Group.
The workshop introduced students to the complete lifecycle of data analytics in modern IT environments. It covered key stages such as data collection, preprocessing, analysis, visualisation, and decision-making. The speaker explained how organisations utilise structured and unstructured data to generate meaningful insights. Emphasis was placed on processes like data cleaning, transformation, and exploratory data analysis.
Real-world examples illustrated the use of data pipelines, dashboards, and reporting tools in improving business efficiency. The session highlighted applications of data analytics across industries like finance, healthcare, e-commerce, and IT services. It also discussed benefits such as improved forecasting accuracy, enhanced customer insights, and increased operational efficiency.
Key challenges like data quality issues, legacy system integration, and data privacy concerns were addressed. The importance of data governance, ethical practices, and continuous learning was strongly emphasised. Overall, the workshop provided valuable industry-oriented insights and encouraged students to explore careers in data analytics and related fields.
