Social Outreach Programme-Sparsha Trust Makkala Dhama
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science), New Horizon College of Engineering, organised a Social Outreach Programme on 16 April 2026 at Sparsha Trust Makkala Dhama from 09:00 AM to 04:00 PM for fourth- and sixth-semester students, as part of a meaningful social engagement initiative. The programme was facilitated by Mr Manjunath, CCI Programme Head, with the aim of spreading joy and building connections through interactive and engaging activities.
A total of 30 students participated in the programme and were divided into two groups to ensure effective coordination and meaningful interaction with the girls residing at the trust. The primary objective of the visit was to create a cheerful and enjoyable environment through fun-filled and engaging activities.
The student volunteers interacted warmly with the children, played games, and involved them in light-hearted sessions that encouraged laughter and happiness. The activities focused on emotional connection, enjoyment, and social bonding rather than formal instruction.
The programme witnessed high levels of enthusiasm, positive energy, and active participation throughout the day. The volunteers made conscious efforts to ensure that every child felt comfortable, included, and valued during the visit. The joyful atmosphere reflected the success of the programme’s purpose and intent.
As a token of care and encouragement, the volunteers distributed 30 school kits along with chocolates to the children. This thoughtful gesture was warmly received and made the occasion memorable for the residents of the trust.
Overall, the outreach programme served as a heartwarming experience that fostered empathy, social responsibility, and compassion among the participating students.
