Cybersecurity in the Era of Digital Transformation | Guest Talk | CSE (Data Science)
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science) organised a guest talk on “Cybersecurity in the Era of Digital Transformation: Processing Data, Privacy and Trust” on 06 May 2026 for fourth-semester students. The session was delivered by Anil B P Rao, Vice President – Delivery and Operations at Rezilyens LLC, an expert in cybersecurity and digital operations. The talk aimed to create awareness about the evolving cybersecurity landscape in the context of rapid digital transformation.
Mr. Anil began the session by explaining the growing significance of digital technologies and their impact on modern enterprises. He emphasised the increasing need for strong cybersecurity frameworks due to the widespread use of digital platforms and data-driven systems. The session highlighted key aspects such as data processing, privacy, and trust as the pillars of secure digital ecosystems.
The speaker discussed common cyber threats faced by organisations today, including phishing, ransomware, and data breaches. He also explained practical cybersecurity measures such as encryption, multi-factor authentication, and secure network architecture. The importance of protecting sensitive information through proactive security practices was strongly emphasised throughout the session.
Mr. Anil further addressed the ethical and regulatory aspects of cybersecurity, stressing the importance of responsible data handling and compliance with global standards. Students were encouraged to build strong fundamentals in cybersecurity and remain updated with emerging technologies.
The interactive Q&A session helped clarify students’ doubts and inspired greater interest in cybersecurity career opportunities among the participants.
