Events

The event commenced with the formal inauguration of the IEEE Biometrics Council Student Chapter, organised by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science) at New Horizon College of Engineering. The ceremony began with a warm welcome to the dignitaries, faculty members, and students, followed by the lighting of the lamp and the official inauguration session.

The gathering was honoured by the presence of the Chief Guest, Vinit Kumar Singh, Competency Head and Architect, Adobe, who addressed the students on the significance of biometrics, emerging technologies, and professional growth through IEEE activities.

Following the inauguration, the office bearers of the newly formed IEEE Biometrics Council Student Chapter were formally introduced to the audience. The introduction highlighted the roles and responsibilities of the student coordinators, faculty coordinators, branch counsellors, and IEEE advisors who would lead and support the council’s activities.

The session encouraged students to actively participate in technical initiatives, research collaborations, workshops, and professional development programmes under the IEEE platform.
