Workshop on “Self-Organizing Networks (SONs) in 5G using AI
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science) conducted a workshop on “Self-Organizing Networks (SONs) in 5G using AI” to introduce students to the evolving landscape of 5G technologies and the role of Artificial Intelligence in modern telecommunications. The session was led by Ms. Swati Garg, an industry expert from Radisys, Bengaluru.
This initiative aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry trends, encouraging students to explore emerging domains like Network Automation and AI-driven optimization. The session witnessed enthusiastic participation, with students showing keen interest in the practical aspects of AI in wireless communication. The workshop focused on the integration of AI in 5G networks, emphasizing concepts such as self-configuration, self-optimization, and self-healing. Students were exposed to real-world applications of AI in telecom, gaining insights into how intelligent systems enhance Network Efficiency, Fault Management, and Automation.
Overall, the workshop significantly enriched students’ understanding of the next-generation networks and prepared them for future opportunities in the fields of Networking, AI, and Data Science.
